Meet our linguistic volunteers!


Thanks to our PILE project (Explore and Enjoy), this year we are enjoying a very special cooperation: three linguistic volunteers! They are helping us to improve our oral skills and, of course, they also share their culture with us. Please, have a look at their presentations:

La Garrotxa with 4th graders

Last month year 4 students had their annual 'colònies'. They went to La Garrotxa and they did lots of different activitites.

For example, the visited a volcano and 'La Fageda d'en Jordà'.

They became pirates and did a ginkana to find a secret treasure... in English!!!

Get to know our city!!!

During few weeks we have been working on our city, Barcelona, with 4th graders.

They have learned about the limits of the city, its different districts and famous monuments or places you can visit.

Last Friday we did an actual tour around the city and we could see, first hand, many of the things we had explained in class.

It was fun and very interesting!

Welcome back!!!

Welcome to the new school year 2014-2015!!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday.

This is the 2nd year of our PILE project: Explore and Enjoy. This means we'll continue with the activities started last year and, we will also start new ones.

We encourage you to follow our blog and to leave your comments and ideas. They'll be most welcome!

An English guest!

Last week Year 4 and Year 2 students enjoyed a very special visit: Mr. Stefan Bromley!

Mr. Bromley is a dad of two Lavinia students. He accepted our invitation and prepared two special sessions where students could discover interesting information about England and about our guest.

An Irish guest!

Few days ago students from 5th year had a very special visit...an Irish guest!

His name is Ian and he is part of Lavinia's big family!

He came to share his culture and language with us so...thank you very much!

Billy Banjo!

Yesterday students from 3th and 4th years went to the theatre to watch a play in English. It's the story of a cowboy, Billy Banjo, and his love for music...

At school, we also have some cowboys and cowgirls...

Farm animals!

In one of the 1st cycle workshops, students are learning about farm animals.

1st Cycle Workshop

Jogging around Les Corts!

Early this month the Year 3 students  went jogging around Les Corts with the company Footing Barcelona. We learned many things about Les Corts’ most important farmhouses and we had a very good time.
